Khen Rinpoche Tsering Dorjee, a local Buddhist monk, who is also professor (Acharya) of Buddhist Philosophy seeing the drastic need for major socio-economic intervention, generously set up and formed PEMA MANI CHARITABLE TRUST under his Chairmanship in 2002 to help and uplift the people of the region in various socio-cultural, economic and other important fields of development.

 

Khen Rinpoche Tsering Dorjee was born in PemaKod and he spent his early childhood in PemaKod. He learned reading and writing Tibetan language very early in his childhood. He showed shrewdness and diligence towards learning and practicing Dharma very early in his youth. It was his strong and unflinching inclination towards Dharma and its activities, which, finally drove him to joined Ngagyur Nyingma Institute for higher learning and Research at Namdroling Monastery Mysore in 1979, where he studied Buddhist sciences and philosophy for about a decade. He underwent strict and rigorous training and practice under the guidance of enlightened masters like H.H the Pema Norbu Rinpoche, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, Khenpo Achoe Rinpoche and the three senior Khenpos of Namdroling Nyingma Institute. 

His Holiness the Pema Norbu Rinpoche his root guru, foreseeing his potential and karmic proclivity to serve and benefit sentient beings, immediately enthroned him as Khenpo (Professor) ahead of schedule time, after passing out from the Institute in 1989 and in the year 1992 His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche deputed him to teach Buddhist philosophy and practice at Shechen Tenyi Dargyeling Institute and monastery in Nepal.

Since then Khen Rinpoche has been whole-heartedly serving and helping sentient beings all over the world. He is known for his compassionate nature, benevolence and for his indomitable determination to benefit sentient beings, and also to serve and uphold Buddha Dharma in general. He has benefited and influenced every one who came across him in his life so far.
