Zangdok Palri Cultural Center at Silapathar, Dhemaji District, Assam

Zangdok Palri is a new Buddhist Cultural Center being constructed by Khen Rinpoche Tsering Dorjee under the aegis of Pema Mani Charitable Trust at No. 2 Phulbari, Silapathar, Dhemaji district of Assam. The new Cultural center/ temple is one of the grandest and the most ambitious project of Khen Rinpoche so far. This Zangdok Palri monastery, unlike many other existing Zangdok Palri monasteries, which are mostly constructed following the description given in the religious texts propounded by Guru Rinpoche, is a

fusion of Indian and Tibetan architectural design, as envisioned by Khen Rinpoche Tsering Dorjee and Lama Kunsang Rangdol, who is both the architect and engineer of the Temple.

It will have traditional three-storey main Temple building, which represents the three kayas of the Buddha or Enlightened beings, the Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, and Nirmanakaya, housing the statues and symbols corresponding to the three manifestations, replicating the “Palace of the lotus light” the celestial palace of Guru Padma Sambava atop the “Glorious copper colored mountain” of Ngayab Ling.

This Cultural center will have a museum, library, hostels, school, and guesthouse for visitors. It will also have more than 1000 prayer wheels set up around the temple complex which will be kept open 24 hours for the general public and tourists.
